GeoDraw - vector topological system for creation, editing and transformation of digital maps.
GeoDraw is a professional system for creation of high quality vector digital map for modern popular GIS. GeoDraw supports correct topological multi-layer structure of vector digital maps, object identification and linkage with attribute data from many popular relational databases, wide set of transformations of vector maps and rasters for their integration in almost any coordinate system, the most popular map projections, export to exchange formats of the most popular GIS. Simultaneously the core basis of GeoDraw is availability for a very wide set of users via low cost (US$500 per installation or lesser), easy-to-use ideology (opinion of thousands of users) and via applications to thousands maps and spatial databases from 1:500 to 1:50 000 000 scales in 1992-1998 for cadastral needs, forest, road, geodesy and cartography, geology, research, ecological, business and many needs in Russia and other countries.
GeoDraw works under Miscorosft Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 3.1 at any PC compatible computers.
The main furnctions of GeoDraw are the following:
- creation of digital maps and plans by use of numerous digitizers, by vectorization on a raster background (GB-size rasters from about 50 formats, including popular spatial images ), by input of coordinates manually or from ASCII files, from GPS and other geodetic equipment
- user-defined number of vector layers and raster, handling display attributes of spatial objects
- creation and editing spatial objects (points, arcs) and topological structures of their relations in very easy manner for practical use
- high capacity up to about millions spatial vector objects per layer
- accessibility of topological relations in a form of relational tables in any moment
- identification of spatial objects to link them to new or existing thematic databases
- wide set of useful and powerful planar transformation for the integration of spatial data from different sources to desired coordinate systems (shift-turn, affine, projective, local-affine etc. transformations) for both vector and raster images
- transformation to/from about 40 map projections and many hemisphere models
- batch mode to make a desired sequence of transformations
- multiple selection of objects by spatial or thematic queries and operations for selected groups
- linking and balancing of vector layers and thematic relational tables and databases
- export from and import to the most popular exchange formats of other systems (ARC/INFO, MapInfo, AutoCAD etc.)
- strightly using the resulted digital maps and thematic databases in end-user GIS GeoGraph produced by our Centre as well as in any GIS apllication designed by our product GeoConstructor (see other sections).
